Description

The BCBA Behavior Analyst reports to the Principal and is responsible for but not limited to the following:

Conducting functional behavior assessments, collecting data, and preparing a variety of reports for the purpose of documenting case history assessments, and treatments,
Consulting with teachers to provide behavioral interventions, create programs and behavior intervention plans,
Working with the students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors, provide support and professional learning for staff who work with students who exhibit such,
Planning, managing, and evaluating assigned staff efforts to properly address behavioral excesses and deficits by building functional skill repertoires,
Reviewing all student records and skill areas, conferring with classroom teachers, and observing students in the classroom setting as per mandate,
Supervising ongoing behavioral programs, assessing the performance of programs, and adjusting as necessary,
Managing electronic data regarding students' progress,
Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with parents and other caregivers,
Respecting cultural diversity and the capability of adapting procedures to that diversity,
Excellent written and verbal skills, detail-oriented

Requirements

Holding a valid New Jersey Certificate of School Psychologist or Social Worker with an acceptable graduate degree from an accredited university, completion of acceptable graduate coursework in behavior analysis, or must hold Board Certified Behavior Analyst Doctoral Certification in good standing through the Behavioral Analyst Certification (BCBA) Board,
Minimum of three (3) years working in an effective and accredited behaviorally oriented program for individuals with autism or emotional or behavioral disorders,
Demonstrate effective problem-solving, communications, organization, planning, record-keeping, and human relations skills,
Demonstrates ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, administrators and others,
Has excellent integrity and demonstrates good moral character and initiative,
Demonstrates effective organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing with students, staff, administration, and the community,
