Responsibilities

Design SQL databases to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability

Develop database architectural strategies at the modeling, design, and implementation stages to address business or industry requirements

Collaborate with system architects, software architects, design analysts, and others to understand business or industry requirements

Performance Tuning

Develop data models for applications, metadata tables, views, or related database structures

Develop advanced and optimized SQL stored procedures and functions

Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements

Create mission critical software with all necessary error handling

Other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience

7+ years of experience in the full life cycle of designing and developing databases and applications using MS SQL Server

Relational Database Design/Development

Excellent understanding of T-SQL programming and Microsoft SQL Server

Error handling via TRY/CATCH with event logging

Expertise in sophisticated relational database report design, development, and maintenance

Experience using reporting tools such as SSIS, SSRS, PowerBI

Experience working with clinical data

Experience with MS Team Foundation Server is a plus

Experience with MS Service Broker is a plus

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology or equivalent experience
