    About the Role:

    Altruist is embarking on an exciting journey and we are in search of a skilled Back End Engineer to become part of our dynamic Engineering team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager, senior engineers, as well as product and business teams
    • Analyze and resolve intricate challenges across various user profiles and workflows
    • Concentrate on constructing and expanding systems
    • Merge data from multiple custodians, consolidate, structure financial data, and input it into a transactional system
    • Tackle sophisticated calculations to generate performance reports consistently and accurately

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 2 years developing scalable RESTful back end services utilizing Java and the Spring Boot framework
    • Implemented microservices architecture for backend services to establish highly distributed and resilient systems
    • Advocate for and employ automated testing such as unit and integration tests
    • Proficiency in utilizing Swagger for API documentation, SonarQube for code quality
    • Knowledge of database technologies including SQL and NoSQL databases like Postgres, MySQL, HBase/Cassandra, Redis
    • Understanding of caching technologies like CDN, Redis, Memcache
    • Familiarity with Docker/Container technologies like Kubernetes or ECS

    Additional Considerations:

    • Experience in constructing cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS
    • Familiarity with the ELK stack to ensure consistent logging, monitoring, and alerting systems are in place
    • Strong domain expertise in brokerage platforms and financial services

    Los Angeles, CA salary range: $113,000—$170,000 USD

    Total compensation encompasses a comprehensive benefits package in addition to equity in the form of Stock Options (ISOs). The salary offer will be determined considering various factors such as experience, expertise, internal pay equality, location, and other relevant business aspects.
