- Discover, develop, and deploy opportunities to improve production flow through automation activities.
- Apply Lean fundamentals and tools to plan line balancing, standard work, product family assignment, work content timing, cell layout, material flow efficiency, and continuous flow optimization.
- Identify and drive improvements in productivity, yield, scrap, rework, and downtime to achieve operational objectives. Owner of the cell's Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Work with cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Sales, Accounting, Planning, etc.) to problem-solve, and develop corrective and preventive actions resulting from continuous improvement, product development, and customer feedback.
- Demonstrate core Manufacturing Engineering functions:
- Coordinate the design and procurement of manufacturing fixtures, tooling, gauges, and test equipment integral to the manufacturing process.
- Develop work instructions, drawings, tests, modifications, assembly processes, fixtures, processes, or specialized manufacturing and test equipment for existing or new products.
- Design/modify/approve CAD models, assemblies, simulations, and drawings in SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Able to interpret and create dimensional prints (GD&T)
- Proficient use of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
- Basic operational knowledge of hand and shop tools.
- Leveragevendors to support cell OEE and project/product implementation.
- Effective and productive communication upstream and downstream.
- Interface with Leadership and internal and external customers to communicate project updates and countermeasures.
- Have earned a bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering.
- Knowledge of lean principles
- Be able to manage projects/programs with limited assistance from others.
- Work in a team atmosphere in the office and on the production floor
- Experience with injection molding, mold tooling, or hydraulic/pump assembly would be a plus.
- Background in automation or robotics
- Previous projects involving CAPEX / equipment purchases.
- Project Management experience
