    Mid Continent Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team This is a 1st Shift- 6 am to 4:30 pm-Monday through Thursday opportunity.

    Summary:
    The role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines within budget. This includes coordinating the team efforts to deliver the projects according to the plan.

    The Manufacturing Engineer will also define the project's objectives & ensure that the desired results are continuously met throughout the product's life cycle.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities


    include the following:

    • Plans and implements, including defining the project outputs, activities, milestones, per customer requirements from beginning (Estimating) through product realization.
    • Develop full-scale project plans to provide status & progress reports to customer, project team and management.
    • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
    • Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
    • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements & related specifications.
    • Assign and oversee project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as tooling/fixture plans, programming, preparation of specifications & manufacturing plans, cell development and product testing as required.
    • Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers.
    • Identify and resolve issues & conflicts within the project team.
    • Interfaces with customers to resolve issues related to manufacture & design to ensure customer needs are met.
    • Interfaces with vendors to develop specifications for purchased product.
    • Ensures successful transition from development to production.
    • Conduct project postmortems to ensure the desired results have been achieved.
    • Identify potential constraints & devise contingency plans to ensure project success.
    • Preform other duties as assigned.

    Education & Experience:

    • 3 to 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry
    • Bachelor's degree from a technical college or university in related field preferred
    • Preferred background or familiarity with machining, welding, assembly, and other manufacturing processes.
    • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and or other continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Blueprint reading and GD&T Knowledge
    • Technically competent with various software programs (SolidWorks/ProE/Mastercam etc.)
    • Experience with Epicor ERP software is a plus.
    • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
    • Strong written & oral communication skills
    • Ability to effectively prioritize & execute tasks under pressure.
    • Persuasive, encouraging & motivating.

    Individuals working in an office setting will not endure some of the physical & work environments conditions of the production floor unless office is adjacent to the production floor or per the individuals job duties and/ or responsibilities.

    All office personnel must abide by the PPE guidelines (safety glasses, safety-toed boots that are provided per the company policy guidelines) when entering the production floor or if a requirement of a department that individual is entering or working in.
