The Director of Logistics is responsible for leading the implementation of routing, tracking, and tracing strategies to uphold customer satisfaction.
This pivotal role involves oversight of both inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring seamless execution focused on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
With a strategic lens, the Director of Logistics will lead the logistics team, promoting their development while optimizing processes to streamline operations.
This role will be instrumental in driving excellence and innovation to meet evolving business needs.Responsibilities:
Strategically lead the logistics department and serve as the primary point of contact for all logistic department matters; manage the transportation and logistics processes.
Engage in short- and long-term tactical as well as strategic planning in order to drive performance that optimizes utilization of resources usage in a cost-effective way.
Develop and implement strategic supply chain plans and processes.Develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce cost to ensure on time delivery of company products.
Oversee and develop new partnerships with freight companies.
Responsible for Corporate Compliance with all federal, state, provincial as well as local regulations/laws as it relates to transporting product.
Ensures consistent compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.Develop and implement strategic supply chain plans and processes.
Utilize analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems, and achieve high performance at optimal costs.
Partner with shipping, production, and sales teams daily and effectively communicate cross functionally to ensure department objectives are consistently meeting company goals and objectives.
Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team, providing mentorship, training, and performance feedback to foster professional growth and development.Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain competitiveness in the market.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration, or a related field, required.
Minimum five (5) years' experience in high-volume distribution environment required; with perishable product lines preferred.
Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and management principles
Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ERP software, FAMOUS required.
Able to work in a team environment; ability to manage, coach, and provide training for direct reports.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail, as well as consistent follow-through skills.
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, and Food Safety
Must be flexible to shift assignments as required to meet both customer & business needs.
Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; must be flexible; ability and willingness to travel.
Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
The employee is regularly required to stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
