    Job Summary

    This position assists in the development and administration of all aspects of the School of Social Work services. The Graduate Assistant works most closely with the Director of Marketing and Continuing Education, Directors for the BSW and MSW programs, and the Director for the Center for Just and Caring Communities. The Graduate Assistant also provides support for the Dean and other faculty as needed. Essential Job Duties
  • Work closely with social work faculty/staff on research projects, literature reviews and/or special projects.
  • Support the work of the Director of Marketing and Continuing Education through contact with prospective students, social media posts, and logistics for continuing education.
  • Support the work of the Center for Just and Caring Communities by assisting with events, such as the commemorative walk for homicide loss survivors and racial justice and reconciliation initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining an updated website for the School of Social Work.
  • Assist with preview days, prospective student visits, and other SSW functions when needed.
  • Other Job Duties Required Qualifications For research studies, applicants will have had at least one undergraduate research course. For curriculum development and Center activities, as well as research studies, applicants must be self-starters with ability to network with various stakeholders and to utilize electronic databases available through Union's library website. Hours may be flexible considering faculty schedules. Preferred Qualifications For research studies, applicants will have had at least one graduate research course covering statistical methods. Christian Requirement Successful candidates must be professing Christians who are active members of a local church, enthusiastically support Union University's Identity, Mission, and Core Values, and articulate a Christian worldview in their work and life.
