- Prospect for new contractor and homeowner customers using effective communication skills and product knowledge.
- Maintain good working relationships with new and established customers through continuous communication and follow-through on commitments.
- Coordinate production/delivery of products to customers by effectively communicating with customers, inside sales, and shipping department, and by monitoring open order reports.
- Provide information to inside sales support staff to obtain accurate proposals for customers using blueprints and take-offs.
- Negotiate with customers to secure sales, process orders using order forms, and employ effective interviewing techniques to leave customers with a strong sense of satisfaction.
- Negotiate to increase product line penetration with existing customers using effective sales and communication techniques.
- Assist the customer service department by performing initial service inspections on product problems and overseeing follow-up on service needed.
- Assist the accounting department with collection of overdue accounts using customer aging and information provided by the accounting department.
- Attend seminars and meetings to improve skills in sales, products, and company mission using techniques such as interviewing and role-playing effectively.
- Assist with other sales functions as assigned, utilizing acquired skills to complete tasks at hand (e.g., trade shows, yard sales, open houses, etc.).
- Uphold the company mission, values, and strategic goals.
- Promote a positive image of the company and its employees.
- Engage in continuous improvement by getting involved in teams or individually to make and implement suggestions, using reliable methods to improve the efficiency of the job or department to make small improvements to the business every day.
- Maintain work areas to 5S standards (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain & Safety).
- High School Diploma or Associate's degree or equivalent years of business experience.
- 2-5 years of industry-related millwork experience.
- Ability to read blueprints, develop estimates, and quotes.
- Knowledge of sales margins and mark-ups.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and set priorities.
- Computer knowledge of PCs and Ponderosa software.
- Commission pay
- 8-hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
- Travel required
