    Description

    Job Title: Medical Science Liaison / Senior Medical Science Liaison (RARE DISEASE)

    Territory: Multiple Territories across the United States including IL, MI, CO, UT, TX, MO, IN, AZ (more territories may be available)

    Overview:

    We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our client's esteemed team. The ideal candidate will possess at least 1-2 years of relevant MSL experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. This role will involve fostering scientific exchange and collaboration with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and internal stakeholders to drive medical education and advance patient care in rare disease.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Scientific Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert, staying abreast of the latest advancements, clinical trials, and treatment modalities within these therapeutic areas.
    2. KOL Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and healthcare professionals, acting as a trusted scientific resource and facilitating scientific exchange.
    3. Medical Education: Develop and deliver comprehensive medical education initiatives, including presentations, symposia, and advisory boards, to enhance understanding of disease states, treatment options, and emerging therapies.
    4. Clinical Support: Provide scientific and clinical support to cross-functional teams, including medical affairs, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment of strategies and initiatives with medical objectives.
    5. Clinical Trial Support: Collaborate with clinical research teams to support the execution of clinical trials, including protocol development, investigator meetings, and data dissemination, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and ethical guidelines.
    6. Strategic Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for strategic collaborations, publications, and research initiatives that contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge and patient care.
    7. Market Insights: Gather and analyze market insights, competitor intelligence, and scientific trends to inform strategic decision-making and drive innovation within the organization.
    8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, guidelines, and internal policies in all interactions and communications with external stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    1. Doctoral degree in a life science discipline (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) required.
    2. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Science Liaison in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
    3. In-depth knowledge of rare diseases, including understanding of disease pathophysiology, treatment landscape, and relevant clinical trials.
    4. Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.
    5. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
    6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and data.
    7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
    8. Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory as needed.
