The Position

A PEAKE Communications Architect will lead Research and Development efforts for the Communication Services team, supporting Public Safety, Emergency Management, DOD and Federal customers. They will work closely with client development teams and engineers to design, build, and sustain containerized application platforms.

A PEAKE Communications Architect possesses a diverse skill set, including:

• Proficiency in Linux server administration and troubleshooting, spanning various distributions like Ubuntu and CentOS.
• Bash scripting expertise for automation and task optimization in Linux environments, complemented by strong scripting skills in Python, Perl, or Ruby for automation and system administration tasks.
• In-depth knowledge of computer hardware components, troubleshooting, and maintenance, coupled with familiarity in server hardware and networking equipment.
• Comprehensive network architecture design experience to meet organizational requirements, emphasizing scalability and efficiency for both current and future needs.
• Seamless execution of network design integration with existing infrastructure and continuous optimization for enhanced performance.
• Expertise in VMWare virtualization technologies, covering installation, configuration, and management of virtual machines, with a focus on performance monitoring and optimization strategies.
• Proficient in containerization using Docker for efficient application deployment, and hands-on experience in Kubernetes orchestration, encompassing deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
• Cloud deployment experience, particularly within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, with a strong background in automation and infrastructure management.
• Understanding of Satellite Communications (SATCOM) principles, including knowledge of cellular networks and protocols.
• Application of experience in SD-WAN and SD-LAN concepts and solutions.
• Providing Senior-level oversight and guidance for troubleshooting and configuring communication systems and related technologies to ensure seamless operations for end-users.
• Implementation of robust security measures within network designs to safeguard data and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations while prioritizing data integrity and confidentiality.

Skillset Required:

• Cloud Deployment and Automation: Extensive experience in cloud deployments, coupled with a strong background in automation and infrastructure management.
• Platform/Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and sustaining platform and infrastructure environments.
• Network Design/Engineering: Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and efficient network infrastructures.
• Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Automation: Demonstrated experience in establishing, maintaining, and executing O&M processes and procedures for both traditional environments and container environments.
• Containerized Infrastructure Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of containerized infrastructure technologies and tools, including Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu), Kubernetes, K3s, Terraform, Rancher, Docker, OpenShift, and VMware vSphere.
• Automation, Scripting, and Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in automation, scripting, and Infrastructure as Code using Python, PowerShell, Go, Bash, YAML, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and REST APIs.
• Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Gitlab and Azure DevOps Server.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills for evaluating, interpreting, drawing inferences, and making recommendations based on data.

Education Required:

• Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience, or Master's Degree with 6 years of experience
• Years of relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

Security Clearance:

• Active Secret Clearance preferred
• Willing to sponsor for DoD clearance
• Candidates must be willing and able to attain a Top Secret level clearance
