As a Formulation Engineering Manager, you will beresponsibleforleadingthe operational activities of the North American Product Technology & Engineering Formulation Group.
This includes ensuringhealth, safety, andenvironmentalaccountability for the Formulation Pilot Plant, scheduling, and prioritizing pilot batches across businesses, delivering the development project portfolio within agreed project milestones, with a focus on high-quality process scale-up and manufacturing introductions, and identifying anddrivingcontinuous improvement efforts.
You will lead the North American Product Technology Formulation Engineering team,focusingon recruiting, and retaining keytalent, developing technical expertise, andsupportingothercareer developmentobjectives.
You will also provide promptsupportfor the North American Production & Supplyorganization, including product manufacturing, product and processchangerequests, product transfers, and post-launch product improvements incollaborationwith Production & Supply.
Additionally, you will promoteinnovationin Formulation Engineering with theobjectiveof identifying and implementingvalue-adding new technologies into the Production and Supplyorganization.Accountabilities:
Prioritize safety and ensure that the team has the necessary training and skills to operate safely while following allhealth, safety, andenvironmentalpolicies.
Lead operational activities for North American Product Technology & Engineering Team and be part of global Formulation Engineering and North American Formulation Fill & Packleadershipteams.
Mentorandcoachteam members oncomplexprojects or other activities and ensuring a focus on continuous improvement of processes and ways of working across the group and department.
Accountable to define andmanagea Capex plan for the Formulation Engineering group and Accountable for the operational budget for formulation engineering, and for general functionalresource management(demandand capacity).
Managethe scheduling and prioritization of the pilot plant acrossdemandsfrom the development portfolio, P&S improvements, product stewardship and other key businesses.
Minimum bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related scientific or engineering discipline with a minimum of 10yearsrelevant work experience.
Experienceleadinga team of technical engineers or scientists andexcellentability toengage, motivate andinfluencea group ofdiversepeople.
Excellentcoaching skills and ability togiveclear,direct, and skillful feedback preferred.
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary project team andmanagea wide range of projects, and the ability to skillfully plan,organizeand monitor performance to meet deadlines.
Ability todevelopand maintain networks andinfluenceand gaincommitmentof stakeholders in acompellingway, and the ability toadaptto changing strategic and external drivers andhelpcreateandinfluencethe direction of departmental and functional strategies.
Broad experience with formulation product development – preferably both liquid and dry scale-up manufacturing processing technologies and experience withsupportingformulation manufacturing operations.
