The State of New Hampshire, Department of Education, Division of Workforce Innovation & Bureau of Disability Determination Services has a full-time vacancy for a Case Technician.

SCOPE OF WORK:


To assist in the retrieval, compiling, analyzing and reporting relevant medical, social and financial date for paper or electronic Social Security Disability claim processing within the Division of Workforce Innovation, Disability Determination Service.**
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To assist in computing, analyzing, processing and resolving payments pertaining to the processing of all orders and invoices submitted to Disability Determination Service.

Assist in maintaining and reviewing detail records of financial transactions for expenditures and income items in the state and federal budget.



Assists in making and receiving calls to and from claimants, medical sources, attorneys and provides general information, answers questions, calling doctors' offices, reconcile reports/invoice issues, and schedules appointments. Provides data and information as requested by the Parent Agency, Federal Component's, etc.

Assist in performing electronic and manual audits, analyzing, processing and routing of all (incoming/outgoing) agency claim file technical data, ensuring SSA/Federal policy requirements are followed; also may service as primary or back-up to perform same. Assist in performing daily maintenance of the DDS vendor database.

Assists in maintaining record of action to follow-up with non-reporting sources and performs these follow-ups by phone or mail to obtain supporting claim information.

Assist in requesting confidential medical and vocational records from doctors, hospitals, etc. in consultation with Disability Examiner on specific development issues when necessary; processes, verifies and distributes confidential claimant medical/psychological reports to the designated agency personnel.

Responsible for secure computer/electronic communications of sensitive/confidential claimant information with off-site SSA network mainframe assessing claim transmission errors. Files and maintains the agency's onsite confidential file archives; performs data entry into NH First and/or monitors fiscal interface.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:

Associate's degree or two years of college.

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.**
Experience:One year's experience requiring public contact, and/or attention to detail as required in explaining rules and regulations or implementing technical instructions.

Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.**
License/Certification:None required.**
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Per HSPD-12, Federal Credentialing required.

Potential employees must undergo background check, finger printing and credit checks.

PREFERRED WORK TRAITS:

The ability to perform duties in a fast-paced, technical, production environment where multi-tasking and accuracy are critical.

Thorough working knowledge and experience with databases desired.**
