We are currently seeking a Program, Planning & Control Analyst to join our Hoist & Winch team.

This position will interact with all functions of the Hoist & Winch business, including Program Management, Engineering, Finance, and Contracts and is therefore an excellent position for an individual who wants to be an integral part of a team that is directly responsible for program execution.


This role will be a high visibility position where the individual will have frequent interaction with senior leadership both within the Hoist & Winch business and the broader Avionics organization.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Provide effective financial administrative planning and control on fixed price and cost redeterminable development programs.
  • Develop program Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) for earned value / project management purposes
  • Perform analysis of program cost and schedule performance, identifying trends, and providing information to Project Leadership Team (PLT) or corrective action implementation.
  • Preparation and analysis of contract Estimates at Complete (EACs) and complete financial support to assigned program teams.
  • Support Program Management in assessing program risks and opportunities
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management practices and procedures, which includes scheduling fundamentals and system tool usage, such the Enterprise Resource Planning System of SAP.
  • Advanced knowledge and usage of Microsoft Office suite of products especially MS Excel.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies.
  • Display good verbal and written communication skills, be a team player, and have good working knowledge of company business systems and policies, contracting processes and earned value management techniques.
  • Accommodate unexpected events, achieve critical deadlines with quality results and perform as a flexible team member in support of the objectives and initiatives of Hoist & Winch business
  • Collaborate with PLT to analyze, prepare, and input monthly sales, profit, and milestone billing forecasts and perform same effort for Annual Operating Plan (AOP) on assigned program(s).
  • Provide variance analysis of monthly sales, costs, profit, schedule, and milestone billing forecast in comparison to prior and plan. Perform same effort for AOP.
  • Track plans and schedules, lead regular update meeting with Engineering and VSL teams. Utilizes schedule risk assessments, milestone charts, earned value management, and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:


  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience
    or **an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
    or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Proven experience presenting to groups and leadership
  • Advanced functional expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of Earned Value Concepts
  • Experience within other Collins Financial organizations such as Pricing, Operations Finance or a Financial Planning & Analysis role are a plus
  • Prior SAP Enterprise Resource Planning system is a plus
  • Jira knowledge is a plus
