- Purchases supplies for production, shop, office, and individual departments.
- Assists other Purchasing team members with business critical functions.
- Maintains accurate and complete records related to all purchasing and support activities.
- Reviews and/or investigates incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensures optimal levels of stock to support ongoing operations.
- Assists with monthly cycle counts and adjustments to maintenance inventory.
- Maintains accurate item information in the computer system.
- Ensures compliance with company purchasing procedures.
- Confirms all purchase orders placed by purchasing.
- Assists with monthly cycle counts and adjustments.
- Requests documentation from suppliers.
- Assists in resolving non-conforming products with suppliers and helps to maintain the supplier scorecard.
- Uses and balances credit card statement.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Business or related field preferred.
- Experience in purchasing/manufacturing environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of internal MRP systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong negotiating skills and the ability to resolve complaints and concerns.
- Ability to work proficiently with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to work in fast-paced office with multiple interruptions.
- Ability to work independently without continued support from others.
- Ability to organize resources and establish priorities while performing complex tasks and multiple projects.
- Ability to manage confidential information.
