Job Description

MAU is hiring a Maintenance Technician at Nucor Buildings Group in La Crosse, VA. As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform various duties, such as installing new equipment, maintaining, and repairing plant machinery and equipment, and involving electrical and related trades.

Shift Information

1st shift, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
3rd shift, 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED
2+ years of industrial maintenance experience

General Requirements

Familiar with electrical controls, PLCs, VFDs, and electrical switchgear
Capable of conduit installation and wiring by the NEC
Ability to efficiently diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic energy systems
Knowledge of electrical motor and automation operation and repair
Ability to work from prints, drawings, sketches, written and/or verbal instructions to perform duties
Ability to demonstrate ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times

Essential Functions

Analyze equipment problems electrically and demonstrate the ability to tear down machinery or equipment, replace or repair parts, and reassemble properly
Notify proper supervision of the need for tooling and machining operations
Install new equipment, run wiring, conduit, and basic electrical work
Work with plant electrician and become familiar with plant electrical panels and disconnects, and electrical equipment throughout the plant
Perform basic electrical maintenance on electronic equipment, as well as perform upgrades to the plant as directed
Use a multimeter for electrical equipment
Work with various material handling devices to transport materials to and from work locations
Evaluate and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to the supervisor
Perform preventative maintenance operations
Help maintain storage of stock supplies and notify parts buyer of low or out-of-stock conditions
Perform other tasks as assigned
