Description

The City of New Albany is seeking to fill the position of Event Specialist/Reservationist. This position is responsible for serving as the primary contact during an event, program, or rental, providing customer services for clients and information for necessary service areas.

**SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** *"*" denotes an essential function of the job*

Serve as the onsite supervisor during events, programs, and rentals.

Assist with setup, oversight, and breakdown of events, programs, and rentals.

Serve as a resource during events, programs, or rentals to ensure client satisfaction, resolving issues that may arise during an event, program, or rental.

Assist in maintaining a clean and organized facility.

Monitor the venue and surrounding area for security of spaces, safety, cleanliness, temperature control, and other issues related to the facility.

Must be well organized and possess the ability to take initiative by anticipating guests needs, assisting with those needs, and communicate accordingly with all involved parties prior to, during, and after events, programs, and rentals.

Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

Work independently and to be accurate, efficient and organized.

Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Work under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.

Stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl occasionally.

Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

**WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS**

This position requires working in the internal environment.

This position requires a flexible work schedule; night and/or weekends may be required.

**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING**

Experience overseeing organized activities, preferred.

Previous customer services experience.

Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form.

A pleasant, friendly, and outgoing demeanor.

Willingness to take on additional tasks as assigned.

Current CPR/First Aid certifications, preferred.
