Manager, Programming - New York, United States - Jazz at Lincoln Center
![Default job background](https://contents.bebee.com/public/img/bg-user-ex-1.jpg)
Description
Job Description
Job DescriptionThe mission of Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) is to entertain, enrich and expand a global community for jazz through performance, education, and advocacy. From college students to young stars, from working professionals to celebrated masters, we present quality jazz for an ever-increasing audience in an unprecedented range of activities and a variety of venues. We are dedicated to lifting audiences and bringing people together with substance and with integrity. JALC has created a dynamic platform where our key constituents – jazz artists (beginner to grizzled veteran), fans (casual listeners to advanced scholars), educators (local band leaders to leading artist-educators) and advocates (local community advocates to important national promoters) – can meet, engage, learn, and work toward common objectives.
The Manager, Programming, is part of a team responsible for programming Dizzy's Club, JALC concert season performances, JALC Shanghai, and diverse other JALC events, including partner jazz festivals, pop-up concerts and internal and external public and private events. The Manager has ownership of the Dizzy's Club and special event programming at JALC. Reporting to the Vice President of Programming, this role is cross-functional and requires the individual to work with team members across the organization to book and implement events both on and off campus. The role requires a sophisticated understanding of the current jazz climate of emerging and established artists, creative and discerning judgment in the selection of artists, superior organizational skills, and ability to balance multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment. The position involves handling a high volume of internal and external communication - with partners, artists, managers, agents, and presenters - with diplomacy and tact, providing a well-informed point of contact for the organization, in New York and or around the world.
Responsibilities

To request accommodation, please notify JALC Human Resources in writing at

Jazz at Lincoln Center is committed to creating an inclusive, open, and respectful culture that reflects and embraces diversity.
This role will be in office 5 days a week.
