    Description

    Our client, an omni-channel retailer, has engaged us to identify a Controller. The successful individual will have 8+ years of experience in a retail, restaurant, grocery, car dealership, gas station, or similarly related industry. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will have 3-5 reports and have responsibility for planning, managing and controlling all accounting and finance-related activities of the organization. This person will be a key member of the leadership team and will maintain relationships with outside vendors including legal, accounting, banking, and other professional services firms. Among other duties, this person will be responsible for:

    • Overseeing month-end close and financial statement preparation for review by CFO and CEO.
    • Overseeing A/P, A/R, inventory control, sales audit, and store-related expenses.
    • Managing payroll preparation.
    • Provideing short and long-term growth analysis.
    • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and analysis of financial data as needed
    • Developing and implementing strong internal controls.
    • Maintaining financial and operational forecasts.
    • Overseeing the FP&A process.
    • Working with outside vendors (banks, accountants, manufacturers, etc.) on monthly and quarterly reporting.
    • Sales tax preparation

    Education/Experience

    • Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
    • 8+ years of experience within the retail, restaurant, grocery, or similarly related industry
    • Experience working multi states
    • Strong written, verbal and analytical skills
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
    • Detail oriented and organized
