Scott Ciaccia

My passion and love for audio and video production started in high school. I attended York College of PA where I got to dive head first into radio station events, news production, and making music videos. I also had the opportunity to work part-time for the Harrisburg Senators, AA Affiliate of the Washington Nationals, as part of their production crew where I fell in love with video production and graphic design for furthering the business model and fan experience.

In February 2015, I became the Director of Entertainment for the Erie SeaWolves, AA Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. New to the role, I had to balance a lot of responsibility including overseeing the control room, on-field games, graphics for the video board and print, the promotional schedule, even tarp pulls! Starting there gave me the strength and determination to tackle any task. After the 2016 season, I was fortunate to rejoin the Harrisburg Senators as Director of Game Entertainment. Working for a larger facility allowed me to expand my role, sharpen my video and graphic skills, and continue to grow as a leader of a large staff.

In December 2020, I joined the Point Park University staff as the Media Production Support Specialist. In this role, I work in the IT department, but work directly with the Cinema Arts Department overseeing their computer labs (both PC and MAC labs) and specialized edit suites. These suites included two 5.1 audio edit suites, a full color editing suite, and animation suites. Part of my role includes researching software and hardware specs and propose any updates to equipment. Some of the software includes Adobe Creative Suite, Avid Pro Tools/Media Composer, Autodesk Maya, Cinema 4D, and more. September 2021 I started my Masters degree in Communication Technology with a social media concentration.

When I am not working, I am enjoying life with my wife, a physician at UPMC. We got married in February 2020 and have two hilarious cats. Now that we live in Pittsburgh, we are enjoying kayaking on the Allegheny River, fishing, walking around town, visiting the Strip District, and of course trying the local craft breweries and food.

My ten years of experience in minor league baseball has prepared me to tackle any challenge. This in addition to my teaching and leadership positions will make me an asset to your team. As Director of Game Entertainment for the Erie SeaWolves and Harrisburg Senators, I have constructed promotional schedules, designed print and video graphics, and handled the ordering, installation, and management of the control room. I hired and managed full-time, part-time, and intern staff in both promotions and video production. During my time with the SeaWolves, I was able to assist in securing the first ballpark naming rights agreement in team history by creating a video that told the story of the organization. The video was presented to the CEO and other upper management of UPMC who were not able to make it to the ballpark for a game. Overall, this experience had many challenges, but also furthered my growth as a professional, leader, and team player.
Currently, I am the Media Production Support Specialist at Point Park University. I focus primarily on computer, equipment, and software support specifically used by the Cinema Arts Department. This includes overseeing the maintenance of over 125 computers (PC and MAC), two 5.1 audio editing suites, Adobe Suite, animation software (Autodesk Maya, Cinema 4D), and much more. During my time at Point Park, I started my Master’s degree in Communication Technology with a concentration in social media.
In addition to these experiences, I also had the pleasure of teaching as an adjunct professor for York College of Pennsylvania. I designed course assignments and taught students how to set up lighting, use a RED Epic camera, and final editing and composition through multiple platforms. This allowed me to start sharing my experience with up-and-coming students.
While I enjoy my current position at Point Park University, I am seeking employment in Columbus to join my wife who has moved there for her job. I believe I have multiple attributes that will benefit your vision with my organizational and communication skills, and a passion to not only create a valuable product, but also create an energetic atmosphere.

I have studied video production during my time at York College of PA. I am currently taking my Master's Degree in communication technology, understanding the analytics of social media.
