Occupational SummaryA full-time, in-person, scientist to conduct research in the field of cardiology and cardiovascular genetics at Duke University.
The individual will perform a variety of activities involved in both analyzing large biological and genomic datasets, including statistical analyses and data visualization, as well as wet lab experimentation to explore the genetic causes of heritable cardiovascular diseases.
Work PerformedWe are seeking a full-time, in-person, staff scientist to 1) assist in cohort and dataset building in large population biobanks such as NIH All of Us, 2) assist in genomic analysis of large datasets, 3) assist in coding for statistical analysis and data visualization, 4) assist in cell culture work to translate findings into cell models of disease, and 5) assist in other administrative duties in the lab, such as ordering and biobank maintenance.
Other aspects of the job include: 1) establish/optimize work procedures and experimental protocols, 2) evaluate and interpret collected data under the guidance of the principal investigator, 3) help in the preparation of oral presentations and/or written reports for meetings, manuscripts, and grants.
