    Supervisor, Maintenance - Greenville, United States - International Vitamin

    Description

    Overview:

    Leads and supports a team of technicians in the delivery of high-quality machine maintenance services. Directs and supervises assigned employees to perform diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance & other tasks in order to meet or exceed requirements in a timely, accurate, and optimal manner that improves overall machine efficiency and reliability. Leads a safety and wellness culture while fostering a positive work experience for the team. Engages positively with all Departments, driving excellent results through continuous improvement initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    Safety

    • Demonstrates leadership by engaging employees to proactively identify opportunities that will improve the Safety for all Employees.
    • Maintains safe and healthy work environment while complying with legal codes and regulations by ensuring employees are following standards and procedures.

    Strategic Vision

    • Develops and displays a thorough understanding of company-wide strategic initiatives
    • Actively supports positive change, working with Departments staff to ensure understanding and effective implementation of new processes and procedures
    • Communicates with the team to promote an understanding of the relationship between actions, results and overall strategic objectives

    Employee Learning and Growth

    • Manages employee performance and provides development opportunities
    • Mentors/coaches employees regarding career planning, training, skills development using ongoing one-on-one communication

    Drive Results

    • Assists Team in measuring and reporting key maintenance performance indicators including root cause analyses and trending machine reliability metrics. Delivers on related action items, removes barriers, and addresses issues in order to promote continuous improvement
    • Communicates and escalates priorities, issues, and equipment status to the leadership as needed, playing a key role in developing and sustaining machine reliability initiatives.
    • Oversee expenses, such as labor, overtime, and material consumption. Approves any overtime worked by the team.
    • Reviews work orders for completion and accuracy. Optimize PM task based on trending metrics or other machine reliability initiatives.
    • Ensures adherence to work schedules and rectifies any gaps that would impact maintenance support.
    • Conducts and participates in team meetings as an influential leader.

    Planning

    • Schedule and assign specific duties to maintenance personnel on a daily basis.
    • Organize, maintain, and recommend addition or deletion of spare parts inventory.
    • Prepare for and oversee preventive maintenance (P.M.) on relevant tooling and equipment as required.
    • Complete all necessary paperwork related to this position.
    • Aid in the troubleshooting and resolution of problems with all equipment as needed.
    • Other duties and/or project work as assigned.
    • Knowledge and compliance with all company policies and S.O.P.s.
    • Knowledge and understanding of all CGMPs relating to this position.
    Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years experience in manufacturing environment., or
    • Associate Degree in Industrial Engineer, Engineering Technology, Journeyman certificate and 3-year experience in manufacturing environment. Preferred.
    • Minimum experience of 3 years in a supervisory role or leadership role.
    • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Ability to supervise others.
    • General knowledge of machinery from a mechanical and electrical perspective.
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills a MUST.
    • Good organizational skills.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines, controlling budgets, and assist others outside their area of responsibility.

    Work Environment / Physical Demands (essential to perform the job duties)

    • The employee is required to perform physical demands in their work environment over an entire 8, 10, or 12-hour shift.
    • The employee is regularly required to use hands, speak and hear.
    • The employee is required to stand, bend, reach with arms, and stoop at knees.
    • Work is typically performed in a moderately noisy business area.
    • Able to lift between pounds.
    • Ability to push/pull up to 60 pounds.
