Summary - Job Responsibilities – Activities:
The Director of Finance's primary responsibilities are participation in and supervision of the Accounting Department including the day-to-day implementation of all the financial management processes of the accounting department.
Develop and maintain complete and accurate financial accounting systems and filing for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit cards, general ledger,and petty cash.
Complete General Ledger account reconciliations and maintain oversight of financial data at the transactional level (including journal entries).
Review and publish timely internal monthly financial statements.
Provide detailed financial analysis in connection with the monthly reporting package.
Provide periodic reporting of financial information including flash reporting, cash balances, cash forecasts, KPIs, etc.
Prepare materials for the board of directors, as needed.
Assure timely filing of all corporate income, sales, use and other tax returns.
Evaluate, implement, and streamline policies, procedures, and controls related to all Accounting/Finance functions as well as policies & procedures feeding into Accounting and Finance.
Prepare annual budget drafts, establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating departmental budgets and incorporating annual sales plans.Ensure that departmental budgets are achieved by incorporating spending controls and providing regular budget to actual results and variance analysis to management.
Actively participate with Mfg/Ops to develop inventory standard pricing.Maintain all banking relationships and ensure the company is optimizing any existing debt facilities to make them align with working capital needs.
Overall responsibility for the financial staff making sure it is in line with the changing needs of the company including, training, scheduling, coaching, appraising, and recruiting.
For CFO and President, review and update annual insurance applications for insurance renewals, including assessing changes, and options.Manage all external annual insurance audits for workers compensation and general liability insurance; address all appropriate questions from the insurance company promptly.
Manage all payroll processing to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Archive documentation.Ensure the company is in compliance with all labor laws and required filings and documentation (e.g., employee handbook, EEOC & DOR filings).
Manage new employee on-boarding and separations including benefit elections and terminations.Manage employee records.
Prepare benefit renewal package options for management approval and implement same.
Respond to data requests by census bureau, host town entities, and state entities.
Support President and financial management with data requests and advice.
Collaborate with customer service in managing and upgrading ERP system.
Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities, and Training Needs:
Knowledge of finance and accounting principles
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong problem solving and communication skills
Highly effective organizational skills
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of total experience
Proficient with ERP systems (strong knowledge of MSFT Dynamics preferred)
Manufacturing industry experience
Ability to work on-site in Portsmouth, NH 5 days/week
