Job Description

Position Summary: The Telecommunications Technician plays a crucial role in the installation, repair, and maintenance of voice, data, video, and access control systems within small, medium, and large enterprise environments. This position involves working with complex systems and ensuring their optimal functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, shop drawings, network diagrams, and wiring schematics.
Troubleshoot voice, data, video, and access control systems at a Tier I level.
Install and terminate UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) wiring systems, adhering to BICSI, ANSI, TIA, and NEC standards.
Proficiently install and terminate fiber optic cabling.
Deploy wireless equipment both indoors and outdoors.
Document telecom outages, installations, and repairs using a ticketing system.
May be required to work non-traditional hours.
Prioritize personal safety, company assets, and public safety.
Maintain regular attendance and high performance.
Communicate effectively through written and verbal channels.
Perform residential and commercial installations, including attic work and interior wall drops.
Work with extension ladders and on roofs (metal and shingles) for antenna installations.

Qualifications:

Minimum High School Diploma (Some College or Technical School preferred).
BICSI Training is a plus.
Valid Driver's License.
High level data network understanding
Strong understanding of structured cabling systems.
General knowledge of TDM and IP phone systems.
Ability to troubleshoot basic low-voltage electrical issues.
Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds, waist high, on a regular basis.
Extension Ladder

Working Hours/Conditions:

Monday – Friday during normal business hours of 7:45am – 5:00 pm. Some overtime will be required. Weekend Installs are optional.
This position will be based in San Antonio TX
Callout and unscheduled overtime is required and anticipated.
Travel is required and anticipated; a company vehicle is assigned
