Join an established manufacturing and distribution company with a legacy spanning over six decades As our client continues to grow, they are seeking an energetic individual to join their team as an Assistant Accounting Manager, with the opportunity for advancement to an Accounting Manager role within a couple of years. As an Assistant Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and leading the general accounting functions within the organization. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing valuable insights to support business decisions.

Responsibilities:

Manage daily cash sheets and perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple companies
Process wire transactions and execute other daily cash management procedures
Lead the month-end closing process and prepare financial statements, while reconciling accounts
Assist in inventory accounting, including cost analysis, purchase rebates, and conducting physical counts
Review and reconcile invoices related to inventory purchases and transfers
Collaborate with Accounting Managers to allocate manufacturing and transportation cost centers, reconcile general ledger accounts, and prepare monthly accounting journal entries
Conduct analysis of expenses and cost centers, providing detailed explanations of transactions and variances
Assist in the preparation of reports for annual financial statement audits and tax returns
Act as a general accounting resource for the Accounting Team, supporting projects and special assignments
Demonstrate a commitment to career advancement and strive for higher performance levels

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
5+ years of experience in general accounting roles, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution environment
Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory requirements
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Self-motivated with a desire for continuous learning and career progression
