    Established and privately-owned industrial cleaning equipment distributor located in Birmingham, AL is searching for an Accounting Manager to grow into a Controller. This person will report into the Director of Finance and oversee financial records and meet reporting deadlines.     ERP experience is highly preferred.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Prepare monthly journal entries.

    Direct monthly close process

    Reconcile accounts to the general ledger and recommend appropriate correcting entries and improvements in accordance with US GAAP.

    Preparation, analysis and/or review of financial and/or analytical reports. Meet with key stakeholders and/or executives to discuss and review findings.

    Responsibility for key components of the general ledger close process, implementing system enhancements where possible.

    Record monthly sales incentive entries to accurately reflect sales, cost of sales and related accruals in the general ledger.

    Assist in the preparation of footnotes to financial statements.

    Research technical GAAP issues and prepare technical accounting memos as required.

    Assist Financial Planning and Analysis group during budget preparation periods.

    Special projects and backup support as needed.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance

    Minimum 3 years experience in corporate accounting,

    ERP experience a plus

    CPA Preferred

    In-depth understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office
