    JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for working collaboratively across all disciplines to ensure a 360 view of sustainability and social impact is considered starting from product innovation, supply chain, to marketing and everything in between. Develop and execute strategy and set global sustainability targets and goals for the Company. Manage the development of the annual Sail & Sustain Report and design auditable processes and systems related to cross-function non-financial data collection, as the Company looks to provide more transparency and disclosure for all key stakeholders.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead company's global sustainability reporting practices while keeping abreast of industry issues and new sustainability practices. Align global sustainability reporting efforts with company-wide goals, corporate reputation strategy and functional business priorities.
    • Lead creation and publication of the company's annual Sail & Sustain report and website. Coordinate data collection across departments. Plan and oversee the writing of accurate content and ensure quality and timeliness of all written materials.
    • Develop targets and goals for the company's sustainability program and establish auditable process to measure and track progress on at least a quarterly basis. Provide progress reports to management team and/or Board of Directors' TESS Committee.
    • Lead strategy for inclusion in sustainability-related indices and lead submission process/review data collected by leading sustainability research and ratings firms, including CDP, S&P, RobecoSAM, MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS and others. Develop strategy and initiatives to improve the company's ratings and perform gap analysis.
    • Identify risks and opportunities that may impact the company from a sustainability and corporate responsibility perspective and assist with company's enterprise risk management process.
    • Collaborate with Corporate Communications, Human Resources, and Marketing to promote sustainability initiatives through the development of strategic sustainability communications plans tailored to key stakeholders (employees, investors, consumers, press and social media, etc.).
    • Ensure timely and accurate responses to other sustainability -focused inquiries from investors, clients, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders.
    • Lead review and response to stakeholder inquiries and investor related analysis including proactive engagement with institutional investors on sustainability performance.
    • Work directly with the data owners to ensure they have a solid understanding of reporting needs and are providing all required data quarterly. Maintain a central data repository for company's non-financial data. Streamline the input of that data from cross-functional data owners.
    • Provide support and direction for compliance efforts with climate-related regulations.
    • Ability to advocate for harmonized regulatory regimes that aid the industry in its journey towards decarbonization without creating perverse incentives.
    • Maintain and improve sustainability dashboards for functional leaders and the executive team.
    • Benchmark company's strategies, results, and performance. Use benchmarking and research skills to proactively identify issues, risks and trends that can affect the brand.
    • Understand and position company for the evolving regulations, standards, and frameworks for sustainability reporting and transparency.
    • Serve as a resource for internal partners for formal sustainability reporting and broader communications needs and opportunities.
    • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree

    FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Sustainability/ESG, Finance, Economics, Communications or related discipline. Master's degree preferred.

    EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 7 years of sustainability or related experience in a corporate environment, investment bank, asset manager or consulting firm. Proven success working in a matrix environment, influencing without direct authority, and leading large scale, complex initiatives.

    COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

    • Exceptional ability to develop positive relationships and lead through influence with internal partners, build consensus and prioritize action and results.
    • Outstanding communicator with excellent presentation and strong written and oral communications skills and strong business acumen.
    • Deep technical expertise and a demonstrated understanding of best-practice sustainability programs.
    • Extensive experience/training in global standards related to socially responsible/ESG investing and reporting including but not limited to UN Sustainable Development Goals, UN Principles for Responsible Investing, Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board and Global Reporting Initiative.
    • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to structure and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and drive to completion.
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute methodically on tactical projects.
    • Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to senior management, other executive, functional, or geographic management.
    • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible.
    • A self-starter who over-indexes on ownership and accountability with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a team-based environment that is fast-paced and rapidly changing.
    • Someone who pays high attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.

    • Proven ability to independently manage deadlines and details and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Understanding of the ESG space from a Thought Leadership, Influencer and Stakeholder Engagement perspective.
    • Ability to serve as an ambassador and spokesperson of company's sustainability efforts internally and externally.
    • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
    • Ability to handle sensitive or proprietary company information in a confidential manner.
    • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
