    Russell Tobin is currently hiring for a Real Estate Associate Attorney for a full-service law firm in Brooklyn, NY offering the legal expertise of its 120+ attorneys, who have accumulated experience and problem-solving skills over decades of practice. They are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm and looking to increase its talented ranks of attorneys by adding a Real Estate Attorney with a demonstrated interest and experience of 10 years plus in of condominium developers and cooperative housing corporations.

    The ideal candidate should possess expertise in drafting and reviewing legal documents related to real estate, cooperatives, and condominiums and must be capable of negotiating terms for real estate transactions and facilitating smooth title transfers. This candidate must also possess a comprehensive understanding of municipal agencies, title examination, and title clearance is crucial and is expected to demonstrate influential decision-making skills alongside superior communication abilities.

    The role involves collaboration with cooperative boards and condominium sponsors, including active participation in condominium formations and conversions. The job responsibilities encompass representing sponsors in the sale of new residential units and parking spaces, serving as general counsel to approximately 40 cooperative housing corporations (including attending shareholders' and board meetings), drafting plan amendments for coop/condo sponsor clients, and representing individual clients in real estate transactions such as purchases, sales, and refinances. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the closing process.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
    • Licensed to practice law in New York.
    • 10 +years of experience with Real Estate Law
    • Experience managing cooperative and condominium legal matters.
    • Ability to build rapport with clients.
    • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, work independently with limited oversight and prioritize work tasks in an effective manner.
    • Proven ability to creatively accomplish organization goals while assessing and managing legal risk.
    • Collaborative with a can-do attitude balanced with the ability to gracefully communicate difficult messages.
    • Comfortable working with all levels of business professionals, including senior management and all colleagues at other departments in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
