SUMMARY:

Provide support and clinical oversight for all MHSS documentation at multiple CCLD board and care facility in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties to meet MediCal and County standards.


Clinical Leadership and Documentation Support

  • Demonstrates strong clinical knowledge, competency, skills, standards, and decision-making for the development of services for diverse consumer populations.
  • Works with Administrators, MHSS Managers, and Coordinators in the development, planning, implementing, monitoring, and billing of clinical services.
  • Stays abreast of and promotes the use of best practices in the provision of clinical services across the agency.
  • Demonstrates strong clinical leadership and guidance to support teams in the adoption and implementation of agency-wide clinical goals and objectives.
  • Reviews Mental Health Support Services documentation to ensure compliance with MediCal and County standards, and best practices.
  • Utilizes licensure to approve necessary documentation, provide diagnoses for the electronic health record, and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Promotes a constructive and positive atmosphere within the company by assisting and working cooperatively with team members, clients and their families.
  • Responsible and mandated to report any suspected abuse of dependent adults and elders directly to Law Enforcement, Adult Protective Services or the Ombudsman and Community Care Licensing. Mandated to comply with suspected abuse reporting policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs.

Qualifications:


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors degree in human services field and a masters degree in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy. Clinical license or license waived required.
  • A minimum of five (3) years of experience in mental health services is required.

Knowledge


Knowledge of and ability to conform to all applicable federal, state and local laws, including rules and regulations of the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Title 22 and Department of Mental Health Title 9 requirements.


Language Skills

  • Read, speak and understand English with enough ability to read, analyze, and interpret the regulations and requirements for managing facilities and programs. Ability to write general correspondence, performance documentation and procedures associated with projects being managed and company programs overall. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, residents, customers and the general public with awareness of multi-cultural issues.
  • Ability to compose standard letters with proper format, grammar, punctuation and spelling, using all parts of speech.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages associated with completing the requirements of the position.

Reasoning Ability

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to formulate and implement plans of action.

  • Must be able to adjust tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be fingerprinted and cleared by the Department of Justice and/or FBI. The company must have receipt of the clearance prior to commencing work at the job site.
  • Provide a satisfactory physician signed Health Screening.
  • TB test clearance with documented results may be accepted if less than 6 months old. TB test clearance with written results is required annually thereafter.
  • Valid First-Aid certification and be re-certified (every three years) on or before the expiration date.
  • Valid California Driver License and company vehicle insurance eligibility and approval. Enrollment in the Department of Motor Vehicles Employer Pull Notice Program is required.
