Complies with the Hospital's core values of R.I.Demonstrates through the assessment an understanding of the elements most significant to the clinical care of the patient.
Assesses patient and completes the RN admission data base within 24 hours of the patient's admission.When functioning as a patient care nurse complete RN assessment if staffing permits.
Makes patient care rounds during each shift and following any significant change in a patient's condition, to identify problems and make adjustments to the plan of care.
Communicates assessment findings and other appropriate clinical information to other health care professionals involved in patient's care.Ensures that all nursing interventions and patient responses are communicated to responsible practitioners as indicated and that all required components of the nursing process are documented in accordance with standards of practice.
Maintains effective utilization of manpower, equipment, and supplies.Performs nursing care in accordance with policy and procedure.
Communicates drug information to patient when appropriate and documents.
Monitors the hospital experience from the perspective of the individual patient and functions as a patient advocate.
Effectively communicates with patients, families, and members of the health care team.
Interacts professionally with the patient / family and involve the patient / family in the formation of an individual plan of care, including the identification and addressing of psychosocial needs of both the family and the patient.
Revising and evaluating the plan of care daily for effectiveness as indicated by the patient's response to treatment. (Serves as role model and resource to other nursing staff seeking solutions to problems involving patients and staff.Accepts temporary reassignment to another area or work function for which the employee has the necessary skills and training when necessary.
The ability to be flexible in your role as a nurse to be able to switch from charge nurse to patient care nurse if you have the appropriate training and necessary skills.
Documents in patient record appropriately.Reviews patient care plans daily and charts accordingly.
Performs interventions as plan of care deems necessary.
Performance of other duties, as assigned.
