Attributes: positive attitude, strong mechanical design experience using SolidWorks, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience, hard worker, able to think beyond the technical solution, exceptional English skills both verbal and written (if you also speak Spanish, that's great)
Location: on-site at our headquarters in Camarillo, CA (841 Avenida Acaso)
What you'll be doing:
You will regularly be challenged with fitting seven pounds of "stuff" into a five pound bag. Now imagine that bag contains sensitive electronics. And you're going to throw the stuffed bag down a flight of stairs. Or ten. Now you're starting to understand the unique challenges faced by AMC Mechanical Engineers.
In this role you'll primarily be working closely with your Electrical Engineering colleagues to design power supply enclosures and assemblies such that heat dissipation is properly handled, EMI doesn't leak out, the unit doesn't shake to bits during shock or vibration testing, and splashes or even submersion in liquids are no problem. In addition to new designs, there will be plenty of support for legacy products that our Production team would really appreciate an up-to-date drawing and/or model that better reflects the awesome designs we build. You'll get to interface with customers to explain creative aspects of your designs and with vendors to make sure they're making it just the way you want it. What's really cool is you'll be working on lots of different models. No boredom here
