Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Responsible for performing infusion therapy as directed by physician orders.


Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

***- Perform the infusion therapy as directed by physician orders.

  • Ensure the safety and comfort of guests during treatments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments administered.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Observe, assess, and document symptoms via nurses note timely.
  • Monitor reactions and patient progress.
  • Educate guests on intravenous therapy to guests.
  • Demonstrates proper infection control techniques and follows universal precautions.
  • Monitors daily refrigerator temps and documents daily log.
  • Schedule follow up appointment for next therapy.
  • Notify the physician and other personnel (Director of Chiropractic Services) of change in the patient's condition.
  • Perform skill outline in the agency's approved policy and procedure manual.
  • Update clinical records according to policy and procedures.
  • Update knowledge and skills by attending inservice programs, continuing education programs, seminars, and selfstudy programs annually.
  • Adhere to safe nursing practice standards.
  • Maintain professionalism with guests.
  • Be knowledgeable about intravenous therapy being administered.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


EDUCATION:
Registered Nurse (R.N.) with a current license within the state.


EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 1 year experience in infusion therapy as a Registered Nurse preferred.


LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid NH Driver?s License and auto insurance.


KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and professional
  • Flexible and adaptable in various situations and when interacting with many different personalities.
  • Basic financial skills, as well as analytical skills for trend and situational analysis desired.
  • Ability to work independently and reliably.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems; work with frequent interruptions; be a team player.
  • Dedication to providing exceptional patient care.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None


PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Work may require hand dexterity for office machine operation, stooping and bending, mobility to complete errands or deliveries, or sitting for extended periods of time.

Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires manual and finger dexterity; for things such as typing, using calculator, and eye-hand coordination.


ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a healthcare environment. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Working with sick people is expected.
