- Greets patients promptly in a friendly manner, assists patients with special needs and provides necessary information & always respects confidentiality.
- Accurately identifies patient, performs accurate and complete registration & obtains necessary consents & signatures.
- Obtains all required information for billing, enters correct diagnosis code(s). Enters information and follows registration protocols as needed to insure accurate and timely billing.
- Orders tests correctly in computer system, prints requisition and verifies orders.
- Communicates well with other staff members to insure excellent customer service and appropriate follow-up.
- Answers phone promptly and appropriately.
- Accurately labels and receives specimens into laboratory LIS system & delivers to appropriate section.
- Acts as a customer service representative for the laboratory including but not limited to: faxing, verbal result reporting, add-ons, questions etc.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- HS Graduate or Equivalent
- Significant manual skills / motor coord & finger dexterity
- Little or no potential for occupational risk
- Sedentary/light effort. May exert up to 10 lbs. force

Summary:
Performs registration, order entry and reception functions for Laboratory. Obtains appropriate information regarding patient demographics, insurance coverage and
