    EnviroServe is a leading provider of waste handling, processing, recycling, disposal and environmental field services.

    EnviroServe has a national footprint with 38 operations including 10-day waste handling facilities, waste solidification and processing facilities and field service operations.

    Position Performance Needs


    Reporting directly to the COO, the Director of Operations is responsible for the overall operations, safety, compliance and performance of the [Eastern Territory] of EnviroServe.

    The individual is responsible for leadership and sound management as an active contributor to the EnviroServe team.


    It is expected that this individual will acquire an intimate understanding of the operational dynamics and business operations of EnviroServe and work closely with the company's senior leadership.

    The Director of Operations is directly accountable for the following activities within the Territory:
    Provide sound leadership to the operations
    Full P&L responsibility
    Full ownership of business plans and budgets
    Coordinate with the sales team to grow the business organically and drive growth through operational leaders
    Integrate acquisitions within the Territory as needed
    Utilize KPIs to drive performance and Team Member accountability
    Foster strong Customer relationships, in conjunction with the Sales team, and community relationships
    Support and promote the EnviroServe strategy
    Meet or exceed all safety standards and regulatory requirements
    Develop future leaders within the company
    Conduct meaningful Team Member reviews regularly
    Travel frequently to the operation sites to meet with site leadership, Team Members, and Customers
    Responsibilities are not all-inclusive and may change based on business needs of the Company


    Requirements/Qualifications:
    Expert level understanding of the environmental industry or applicable adjacent industries
    Experience leading a large workforce in a high volume transactional environment, including hiring, training, developing future leaders, promoting engagement, performance management, and managing change
    Ability to make difficult decisions, solve problems, prioritize assignments, generate and utilize reports, and manage strategic initiatives
    Proven ability to successfully launch new operations and integrate acquisitions
    Experience leading significant contract negotiations with Customers
    Ability to travel frequently to operations including air travel, with frequent multi-night stays
    Strong verbal and written communication with good composition skills, including appropriate grammar and spelling
    Functions as a team player and works effectively with all levels of Team Members, management, vendors and applicants for employment
    Ability to deal with stress and pressure under tight deadlines, while maintaining professionalism and decorum
    Ability to maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive data and information
    Exceptional organizational and project management skills
    Must be able to speak and understand English so as to clearly communicate, listen and understand emergency situations and direct others appropriately
    Must have and maintain a current driver's license
    High proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint


    Education/Experience:
    High school diploma required; bachelor's degree related field preferred
    8+ years of professional experience in a leadership role in a large workforce in a high volume environment
    5+ years of experience in the environmental services or similar industry


    Physical Requirements:
    Able to work in an office setting with exposure to common office equipment and chemicals; must be able to sit for extended periods of time
    While in the field, this position will
    Climb stairs and ladders; work at heights
    Walk and stand for extended periods of time on hard and/or uneven surfaces
    Be exposed to loud noises, chemicals and hazardous materials, fumes, dust, bright lights, moisture, and other extreme environmental conditions
    Be exposed to dangerous equipment and conditions
    Be outside in the weather, including heat, cold, wind, rain and snow
    Work in enclosed, small or cramped areas

    Must be able and willing to wear proper personal protective equipment as environment and location dictate; this may include a proper seal on a mask fit
    Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position
