Summary:
To provide support to the facility MDS Coordinators in the assigned region
Qualifications:
Education:
Must have nursing degree (or diploma) from accredited college - RN necessaryLicenses/Certification:
Nursing License for the state(s) within the Region
Experience:
Must have 1+ year working with RAI process and PPS.
Essential Functions:
Provide support in MDS to include:
Software questions and trouble shootingMDS schedulingMDS and diagnosis CodingCAA and Care Plan QuestionsRUG and reimbursement related itemsMedicare and Insurance related itemsADR and Medical chart reviewsOn site MDS support and coverage for RNAC absencesMDS training for the facilitiesProvide necessary MDS, RUG, and Medicare auditsEnsure MDS completions and validate submissionsParticipate in Medicare certification and recertification processEnsure adherence to PPS schedule and assessment tyoeEnsure continuing education for the facilitiesFollow-up on any necessary corrective actions.
Performs other duties as assignedKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Proficient in Word, Excel and email.
Have good computer software skills.
Must be willing and able to travel extensively.
Ability to provide education to professional and non-professional staff.
Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines governing nursing functions in long-term care.
