Seeking a finance director for Trinity Church.

Title:
Director of Finance

Hours:
Monday – Friday (20hrs/wk)

Salary:
Commensurate with experience

Function:
Work closely with the Elder Board, Operations Board, and Ministry Leaders to support the financial health of the church. Strategize financial plans, prepare for financial reviews, maintain detailed business records, and assist with basic
HRduties. Reports directly to the Senior Pastor.

Job Duties:
Finance

Perform accounts receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, and collections.

Perform accounts payable functions including reviewing, coding, and processing payments.

Record and maintain files for financial transactions.

Support all ministries in areas of budget and finance.

Prepare annual contribution statements and assist donors with information or corrections, working with Financial Secretary as needed.

Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner, working with Treasurer to conduct reconciliation of all accounts monthly.

Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data as requested and for the annual report.

Support Operations Board and Finance Subcommittee in annual budget planning process, and internal and external financial reviews. Attendance at monthly Operations Board meeting preferable.

Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

HR
Provide new hires with appropriate documents. Process and file accordingly.

Perform payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner.

Correspond with multiple entities for benefits administration.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
3-5 years of work experience in accounting/bookkeeping, benefits administration experience a plus.
Ability to work through complex problems and maintain confidentiality.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
Ability to work with a broad range of people in a professional and positive manner.
Computer proficiency for this position includes experience with accounting software, Microsoft 365, PDF Editing, and utilizing various web-based platforms (ie. PowerChurch Plus, SimpleGive, PEX).
