HBM is looking for an alert individual to monitor a school campus and be the first point of contact for all visitors.
We are looking for someone with strong communication and customer service skills. This is a full-time benefited position. Hours are 10am - 630pm Mon - Fri.Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities the Safety Monitor is responsible for enforcing safe school practices and visitor protocols for the school campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Walk and survey hallways, common areas, interior and exterior grounds, and parking lots to enforce safe school policies.
- Welcomes, assists and answer inquiries from students, visitors, and staff in a supportive and professional manner.
- Contacts proper authorities in a timely manner when needed.
- Provides high visibility to act as a deterrent to unsafe or poor behavior, loitering, and disruptive behavior.
- Must drive students and staff to and from the train station using company vans (about 45min per day)
- Firmly and courteously request compliance to persons violating safety policies which are deemed a risk to students, staff, and campus.
- Escort visitors to ensures visitor protocols are followed.
- Helps with event set up and tear down.
- Assists the facilities team for special events and as needed and during times that school is out of session.
- Helps create emergency protocols and procedures
- Inspects emergency items including extinguishers, safety signs, emergency packs, exits, meeting areas.
- During days when the campus is closed, this person will be supporting the maintenance team with light projects (cleaning windows, power washing, painting, etc.)

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities):
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to use sound judgement in difficult situations and solve problems effectively.
- Ability to communicate verbally with staff in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques and deescalation techniques.
- Experience in a safety role or similar.
Certification Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification required within 1 year after entering position.
Preferred education and experience
- 1year experience working in a school setting.
- 2+ years of customer service experience
- Working knowledge of twoway radio.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, pull, push 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and walk for long periods of time during a shift.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to pass Federal background check.
Vaccination requirements including TB testing
Pay:
$ $28.00 per hour
