Your responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration, maintenance, and documentation of VMware servers including iSCSI storage
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting of highly available virtual infrastructure (vCenter, VMotion, Virtual Distributed Switch)
  • Ensuring performance, integrity, availability, and security of hardware and software used
  • Backup and restore of virtual machines

Your profile:

  • Completed (technical) university degree (diploma/bachelor) in fields such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics, and several years of professional experience in the mentioned areas of responsibility
or

  • Other employees with comparable knowledge, such as career starters and career changers, with a willingness for professional development:
  • Completed vocational training, for example as a computer scientist, IT business manager, or IT system electronics technician, or
  • Passed exam for Certified IT Professional (IHK) or
  • Comparable longterm professional experience in the mentioned areas of responsibility

as well as:


  • Professional experience in VMware vSphere environment
  • Knowledge in HP Enterprise Storage (StoreVirtual / NIMBLE with iSCSI connection)
  • Strong social skills and ability to work in a team
  • High resilience and selfinitiative
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Willingness for occasional business trips within NRW
