The Robotics Innovation Center, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Frank Kirchner, is dedicated to developing mobile robotic systems for complex tasks on land, water, air, and space.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated team member to join our team at the Robotics Innovation Center (RIC) in San Antonio, PR as a Scientific Employee in the 'Terrestrial Robotics' team (m/f/d).

Responsibilities:

Application of machine learning techniques for image recognition
Detection of complex structures in 2D/3D camera images and their application in robot control (e.g. skeleton tracking for gesture control of robots)
Software development in ROS/ROS
Participation in the acquisition and implementation of national and international research and development projects (BMBF, EU, etc.) in the field of Terrestrial Robotics (agricultural, forestry, security robotics, as well as production/logistics)

Qualifications:

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Science, System Engineering or similar (Master's or equivalent)
Good knowledge of deep learning
Experience in sensor data processing, e.g. image recognition
Good knowledge of robot frameworks, e.g. ROS/ROS
Good command of English
Enjoyment of working in a dynamic and growing team
