The Department of Bridges, Tunnels, and Light Rail Construction is responsible for the planning, construction, and maintenance of engineering structures and light rail facilities in the state capital of Düsseldorf.


In Düsseldorf, there are numerous bridges that need to be replaced, many of which were built during the economic boom.

The Rhine bridges and their approach bridges (such as the Theodor Heuss Bridge) as well as the elevated highways (such as the Benediktusstraße) are of great importance for traffic.

In the planning department, we are looking for a dedicated employee for the project management of bridge major projects.


You can expect exciting and responsible tasks, as well as leading a dedicated project team with internal and external employees.

Your tasks include:

  • Project management for the planning of engineering structures
  • Handling various technical topics, such as object and structural planning, planning of traffic facilities, soil conditions, noise protection, and others
  • Participation in citizen dialogues
  • Conducting financing and approval procedures (application, coordination with approval and planning authorities, etc.)
  • Preparation of documents for political committees and presentation of the project to the public
  • Coordination with planning participants (departments of the department, other departments of the state capital of Düsseldorf, other authorities and institutions, as well as third parties).
