- Lead large restoration projects of high complexity, through all phases of a project lifecycle.
- Serve as technical lead, interface with clients, engage local and remote staff, and interact with permitting agencies and partnering consulting firms in the execution of restoration projects.
- Schedule, coordinate, and monitor field logistics for large restoration projects in both an urban and rural setting.
- Manage multiple projects/task orders simultaneously.
- Establish project/task order objectives, procedures, and performance standards.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams on the preparation of technical drawings and reports.
- Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project/task order objectives.
- Track and manage costs and schedule and implement measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.
- Lead by example with active support of internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, and quality management.
- Provide mentoring and training of junior staff.
- Ensure compliance with project plan and procedures.
- Experience with designing ecosystem restoration projects using a variety of techniques.
- Working knowledge of hydrology, stormwater management, water quality issues, and ecology, as well as experience in wetland delineation/mitigation design.
- Expertise in all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project document production.
- Demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
- Strong presentation and interview skills.
- Experience mentoring junior staff on engineering design, calculations, and development of technical specifications.
- Familiarity with CADD.
- Familiarity with the permitting process and environmental regulations.
- Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as required).
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Agricultural, Civil or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science.
- PE, Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner or Professional Wetland Scientist preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience to include relevant consulting experience and experience in a lead design role in projects with significant capital budgets.
