Tatum by Randstad is seeking a seasoned Controller with extensive experience in real estate development and private equity. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and self-motivated individual to join our team and make a significant impact on our client's continued growth.

The Controller will manage all accounting, controls, and risk management tasks. Key responsibilities include implementing a general ledger, overseeing daily accounting activities, preparing monthly financial statements, and handling both annual and interim audits in collaboration with an external audit firm. The ideal candidate should excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and will gain extensive industry, business, and financial investment knowledge while working with experienced professionals.

This is an immediate need and is a Direct Hire opportunity for the right candidate .

The target compensation range for the position is between $125K - $175K depending on experience.

This is an ON-SITE opportunity.

responsibilities:

Manage all accounting, controls, and risk management tasks.
Implement and maintain a general ledger; building out internal controls.
Oversee daily accounting activities.
Prepare monthly financial statements (investor financial reporting/accounting & tax); month-end close process ownership (improve/streamline month-end close process).
Handle annual and interim audits in collaboration with an external audit firm.
Excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Articulate a thesis and communicate ideas.
Interfacing with executive leadership and peers to present ideas and collaborate on initiatives.
Motivate team members and establish/maintain a high performing, cohesive culture.
Gain extensive industry, business, and financial investment knowledge.
qualifications:
- Accounting or Finance degree (CPA preferred).
- 7-10+ years of experience as a Real Estate Controller, Corporate Controller, or a similar position.
- Real estate experience including development/construction.
- Strong academic background - finance, real estate or accounting background preferred ( Fund Accounting/Technical Accounting is a must).
- Extensive experience with complex financial modeling (spreadsheet, database, and presentation skills are required).
- Expert with interfacing with executives and peers alike to present ideas and collaborate on initiatives.
- Yardi and NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both autonomously and in a team setting.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and comfortably navigate through complex tasks with little guidance.
- Ability to deliver while building an appropriately sized accounting team.
