Job DescriptionLHH is looking for a full-time Staff Accountant to join our client-growing company in Everett, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract, onsite at our client location. Please see the details below.Department: Accounting
Reports to: Senior Accountant
Summary: We are seeking a meticulous and adaptable Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of monthly financial analysis reports, developing and maintaining department budgets, and generating cost reports. The successful candidate will also collect pertinent information for third-party audits, oversee financial reporting and operations, and will be the first point of contact for accounting issues.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes.
Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conduct internal audits.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
Respond to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
Ensure compliance with GAAP.
Assist the accounting manager in preparing documents and interpreting complicated financial information for managers, executives, and C-Suite executives.
Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
Prepare VAT returns and other tax filings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as a staff accountant or relevant role in accounting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation.
Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
CPA or CMA part-qualified or fully qualified preferred.

Compensation: $30-$40/hour
