    Description
    Mercer University Athletic Media Relations is seeking a graduate assistant beginning with the school year.

    The selected candidate will be the primary media relations contact for 3-4 selected sports which will be determined based on the office's needs and the candidate's experience.

    This position will receive a tuition waiver upon acceptance into graduate school, as well as be granted off-campus housing, a meal plan and a small monthly stipend.

    This position will report directly to the Assistant Athletics Director for Athletic Media Relations in an effort to publicize all student-athletes, coaches and staff members at Mercer University.

    He/she will serve as the primary communications contact for selected sports, as well as the secondary contact for other sports.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to all communications needs, including press releases, graphics, social media, website management, statistical coverage, record keeping, gameday publications and publicity of assigned sports.

    Individual will also perform other duties as assigned.


    • Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, sport management or related field
    • Experience in an athletic communications/sports information office
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of AP style
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites, specifically Photoshop and InDesign
    • Basic understanding of NCAA Live Stats / Genius and Stat Crew software
    • Experience in website maintenance, social media content creation, photography and videography
    • Experience dealing with print, radio and television media
    • Ability to work weekdays and nights, weekends and holidays when necessary
