Position Summary:

Visual Comfort & Co. is looking for an eager intern to support our Human Resources team for Summer 2024. Interns typically support their designated department in day-to-day activities, complete assigned projects, and assist in all aspects of the department's needs. Interns will receive mentoring from their assigned supervisor and must contribute to a community engagement project sponsored by the company. At the end of the internship, interns are required to submit a presentation documenting their acquired knowledge and accomplishments.

Responsibilities:

Analyze, interpret, and present HR metrics/data.
Assist in updating new hire orientation materials.
Create new program proposals using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Complete data entry in HRIS system and assist in document retention.
Support day-to-day operations including data entry, administration, and project facilitation.
Contribute to assigned company-sponsored community engagement activities.
Participate in regular internship meetings and deliver a comprehensive summer internship overview presentation.
Respond to emails as needed.
Provide assistance to other departments as required.
Demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedules.

Qualifications:

Enrolled in a 4-year bachelor's degree program (junior year or higher) or completing a graduate degree program in human resources, business administration, or similar field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate Excel skills.
Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
