    UC Riverside's Auxiliary Services is recruiting for Senior Director of Auxiliary Facilities Services. The full salary range for the Senior Director is $107,200 - $207,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $157,200 annually.

    We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

    //careers- The Senior Director of Auxiliary Facilities Services is a new position and will help shape our Facilities unit. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Auxiliary Services, the Senior Director, Auxiliary Facilities Services will oversee the maintenance, custodial, resource management and unit administrative operations for Auxiliary Services owned/operated properties across campus with 24/7/365 responsibility. Auxiliary Services is comprised of Housing Services, Dining & Hospitality Services, Early Childhood Education, Transportation Services, Campus Business Services, and Finance & Business Operations. Auxiliary Facilities Services is responsible for the upkeep and long-term health of over 105 buildings/structures totaling approximately 2.6M sf. The position has direct oversight of 5 career staff with secondary supervision to over 100 FTE team members. Manages minor capital/major maintenance projects; FFE (furniture, fixtures & equipment) specification and procurement; emergency planning and response; work order systems/processes; liaise to campus grounds & fire safety units; provides guidance and expertise to other Auxiliary Services unit operational staff. Serves on the Auxiliary Services senior leadership team and collaborates with colleagues on high level decision making and organizational strategies. Ensures clean, well-maintained facilities that comply with campus/county/state/federal health and safety regulations along with delivering high quality service to a variety of customers. Will work closely with the Associate Vice Chancellor on several critical areas including establishment of a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, short- and long-term project priorities, budgeting, development of future facilities, workforce planning and optimization of resources. Holds delegated authority on behalf of the department in order to address deferred maintenance issues through project management processes. Works closely with campus partners such as Planning, Design & Construction, Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities Services, Procurement, Fire Marshal, Risk Management and UCPD in order to advance projects and comply with campus/UC policies.     Provides leadership, direction and expertise to department, projects or decentralized facilities management and construction activities.

    Responsible for the coordination, planning and implementation of all general or specialty facility and capital projects with minimal oversight from Capital Projects and also serves as the primary contact with Capital Projects.

    Manages multiple projects on behalf of multiple facilities which may be administrative, specialty research labs, or teaching labs.
    Assumes full responsibility for staffing, budgets, costs and human resource-related activities pertaining to department staff members.

    Functions as primary point person for all facilities-related emergency repair occurrences and ensures on-call staff are supported and communicating incident and needs.

    Analyzes incident details, affected parties; plans emergency project scope and works closely with Risk Management on insurance process and liability assessment.

    Maintains documentation for claims and audits.
    Makes discretionary decisions on the department's behalf, reviewing extra costs, attending the owner-contractor-architect weekly meetings, etc.
    Ensures all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, meet University and organization standards.
    Provides oversight for facility development, building safety, hazardous materials, waste management and space.

    Conveys the design requirements and intent to those responsible for the design in specialized labs, sites and specialized and general buildings.

    Ability to facilitate and collaborate with various internal and external constituencies on strategic short- and long -term facilities planning, management and building construction.

    Thorough knowledge of engineering and/or architectural design and concepts.
    Leadership skills to mentor and develop professional staff.
    Thorough knowledge of industry best practices.
    Demonstrated trades/skilled crafts work knowledge.
    Knowledge of budget development and short/long term financial projections to meet facility needs.

    Understanding of union environment with demonstrated ability to work within Collective Bargaining Agreements and participating in joint labor meetings, grievances and contract negotiations.

    Ability to develop high quality service standards, training programs and unit/team goals.

    Computer skills with commonly used programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and shared drives).Knowledge of human resources procedures, including staffing, hiring, training, disciplinary action, termination, and performance management.

    Broad knowledge and understanding of applicable laws, rules, regulations, compliance, and internal/external policies.
    Understanding of emergency planning, response and recovery processes and EOC's.
    Working knowledge and/or experience of UC systems, polices, procedures and regulations.
    Knowledge of sustainable practices, LEED items as pertains to facilities improvements.

    Knowledge of budget development and short/long term financial projections to meet facility needs.
