The Jack Welch College of Business & Technology (WCBT) invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor faculty position, starting August 15, 2024. Candidates are expected to teach courses in the Undergraduate Business Analytics programs.

The ideal candidate should have a terminal degree in computer science, economics, applied mathematics, statistics, or a business field. ABDs will be considered, but must finish the Ph.D. by August 15, 2024. Candidates with an MS degree who have strong experience applying analytics and statistics in business applications will also be considered. The candidate must be proficient in Excel and Python (SQL and Tableau/PowerBI is a plus). Strong applicants should be versatile, with the ability to teach a variety of courses in the analytics field to undergraduate business students.

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will be expected to:

Teach data analytics courses. Potential courses include Using Data for Business Decision-making (Excel), Introductory Python, and Data Visualization.
Participate in department, school, and university-level meetings and services.
Aid in the development of the analytics curriculum
The ideal candidate will bring the following skills and experience:

A solid background in statistics.
Experience and/or training using MS Excel, Python, and other common tools utilized in analytics (SQL and Tableau/PowerBI for example).
Experience applying analytical skills in a business context.
Demonstrated teaching proficiency in technical courses.
