Work Arrangement:

This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidates is expected to report to the Design Center in Pasadena on a full-time basis.

The role:

Come be a part of one of the most exciting global design studios that is changing the future of mobility GM's Advanced Design Studio in Pasadena, California is seeking a CNC Operator and Programmer to be responsible for the CNC manufacturing of full size and scale properties, and components for Creative Design. The right candidate will have a background in CNC programming applications, preferably Siemens NX CAD/CAM applications and CNC machining technology. The role will be both in the Metal and Wood Machining Departments. This role is on a tight knit team while also having a lot of autonomy.

What You'll Do:

• Demonstrate a safety mindset and work practices

• Communicate and demonstrate CNC programming and machining methods for parts/components with complex
geometry

• Analyze math data to identify surface defects or determine if itmeets machining and safety standards

• Determine and engineer part holding strategies e.g. tabs, fixturing, job specific cradles etc...

• Knowledge of proper tooling and machine feed rates based on material and part complexity

• The operation of 3 and 5 axis CNC machines that manufacture componentry to full size properties

• Analyze job assignments and communicate timing and strategy with supervision

• Apply software applications related to Computer Aided Design, Machining, and Data Management

• Knowledgeable on GMSPrinciples; Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost and Environment (SPQRCE)

and participate in GMS reviews

• Communicate any machine or maintenance issues to supervision

• Interface with Design Fabrication Engineering, Project Management, and Facility Operations

Support an environment which promotes innovation and continuous improvement

Additional Description

Your Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience with applied CAD/CAM technologiesand Prototype Model Making

• Ability to recommend methods and strategies for the manufacture of componentry with complex geometry using CNC technologies

• Knowledgeable in interpreting and validating 3D math files and engineering drawings

• Strong analytical/problem solving skills with capability to identify solutions to unusual and complex problems

• Skilled at using measuring tools e.g. Renshaw or similar probes, calipers, dial indicators, height gages, etc...

• Knowledgeable in NX CAM, Drafting, Team Center, and familiar with NX CAD or similar applications

• Proficient with CNC machine tools and controls, e.g. HAAS, Fanuc etc.

• Experience working on a variety of concurrent projects

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

The salary range for this role is ($77,708 - $124,131). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
