    Senior Litigation Attorney

    Job type: Full-Time

    Location: Hartford, CT

    Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Litigation Associate to work in our dynamic and varied insurance defense practice with the legal team in our Hartford office. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of insurance defense cases including general liability matters, first and third-party insurance coverage claims, construction, toxic tort and employment defense. The position offers the opportunity for advancement within the firm. The successful candidate will have first chair jury trial experience, excellent research, writing and analytic skills, be able to handle all aspects of civil litigation and work well as part of a team.

    Duties:

    · -Handle a varied case load of insurance defense cases in State and Federal Court

    · Conduct legal research using various resources such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw

    · Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs

    · Assist with case management, including organizing and maintaining case files

    · Prepare for and attend court hearings, trials, and depositions

    · Collaborate with Partners to develop case strategies

    · Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in litigation

    · Conduct negotiations to reach favorable settlements on behalf of clients

    · Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations affecting litigation practice

    Requirements:

    · Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

    · Admission to the Connecticut State and Federal Bar

    · Strong written and verbal communication skills

    · Excellent research and analytical abilities

    · Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

    · Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

    · Proficiency in legal administrative tasks such as document management and case organization

    · Experience conducting legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis or Westlaw

    · Ability to litigate cases effectively in court
