- Assisting with mouse colony husbandry, breeding and record keeping
- Behavioral testing of animals
- Genotyping tissues using PCR techniques
- Utilizing Western blotting techniques
- Performing BCA protein assays
- ELISA assays; organization and analysis
- Aurora 3 In 1 muscle force testing and software analysis
- Animal dissections and tissue processing
- Paraffin specimen sectioning and staining
- Immunohistochemical and histochemical assays on cells and tissues
- Imaging with fluorescent and bright-field microscopy
- Behavioral data analysis in Excel
- Image J image analysis of histological sections

Position Summary
A laboratory research technician is needed in a laboratory that studies mechanisms of joint injury in osteoarthritis. The candidate should be able to perform routine laboratory maintenance and duties for research activities. The advanced candidate will be able to work independently and have previous training in advanced laboratory procedures and techniques.
Advanced responsibilities will be assigned to include microscopy, tissue culture and experimental animal models and behavioral testing and data analysis.
