ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Plant Manager, this position will direct all warehouse operations while ensuring the achievement of logistics objectives at the lowest cost, and consistent with company quality standards and customer delivery requirements.
Successful candidate will work as a change agent transforming warehouse operations into a culture of significant focus on value through rapid continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies.
Must have extensive background in warehouse/manufacturing processes.Supervise the movement of materials, finished goods and products, ensuring the highest level of on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost, while meeting the company performance and quality standards and customer specifications
Responsible for Inventory via cycle counting, system accuracy and accurate documentation for stock placement and retrieval
Evaluate, select and monitor carriers ensuring the best combination of price, on-time performance and damage limitation
Responsible for "Dock to Stock" in 24 hours
Maintaining and organizing shipping and receiving areas including Dock(s), compactor, bailer, recycle
Process all necessary documentation and paperwork for completed jobs and programs, and manage labor hours
Maintain awareness and knowledge of the condition of fleet vehicles
Evaluate and recommend improvements in methods and processes to increase productivity and quality
Responsible for maintaining Forklift Training programs and certification statuses for all employees
Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems. Train new employees in the logistics processes and all quality and safety expectations/standards
Enforce all quality procedures, safety regulations and housekeeping procedures
Ensure the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all subordinates are understood and that all department personnel are held to high performance standards
Experience and skills for success in this role:
Associate's degree in production or operations from a 2-year college plus a minimum of 3 years progressively responsible related experience; or 5 years progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience
Knowledge of Microsoft NAV
Forklift operations certification
General knowledge of manufacturing
Working knowledge of accounting methods and cost control procedures
Experience and working knowledge of warehouse, inventory and shipping procedures
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively with other employees of the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in business, production, or operations management from a four-year college or university.
